Common Ground: Cut Collective (NZ) meets Via Graffick (Germany). Based around the idea 'keep the wall grey and the mind will follow', Common Ground incorporates wall paintings, stencils, sculptural installations and a full-to-bursting events programme celebrating street culture. OPENING NIGHT TONIGHT 8pm onwards at The New Dowse. Runs from 13 February to 17 May 2009.

El Guincho are Spanish multi-instrumentalist dreams down under for the first time. I imagine the show will be an uplifting, worldly affair, with The Ruby Suns in support at SFBH from 9pm

Last but definitely not least is David Byrne playing tracks from both his prolific career as artist, musician and frontperson of new wave alternatives Talking Heads. With a ten piece band and five back-up dancers supporting not just highlights from this career, but also from Brian Eno's and the recent album between the two, this is bound to be, no less than an absolutely beautiful experience. At the Michael Fowler Centre from 8pm.
