Boxing Day
I watched an incredible Australian film last night. In fact it's so good, I want you to all stop what you're doing, go to your video store, get it out, take your phone off the hook, lock your doors, tell all your friends to leave you alone, put it in and turn it up. Right now.
The film is all one scene (with 12 invisible cuts - try and spot all of them) and is in real time i.e. an 82min snapshot of life.
It follows an ex-con on house arrest (AMAZINGLY portrayed by real ex-con and Aboriginal speaking poet Richard Green - below) who is attempting to straighten out his life and cook a Boxing Day lunch for those who he cares about. This is interrupted by an unwelcome visit from his crazy ex-cellmate who sparks a shitstorm.
An intense film - the realism is amazing.
Why are you still reading? You should be going to get it out. Get.
