RACK OFF

Ok, so this collection came out a while back, and cemented my belief that the mega chains in the UK, Europe and the States, mainly in the form of Topshop and H&M are killing the contenders with their next level collections at next level (compared to their usual bulk fare) but affordable prices. Unique for Topshop Spring Summer 08/09 is an absolute 1980's dream that Molly Ringwald would covet and take home to her middle suburban coming-of-age-teen dream in every movie she's been in and show it off and make all her friends want to be her and would no longer have the 'fitting in' issues she does in all of her films. Pheuf (obsessive much?)Anyway, white David Byrne-esque blazers with multi-pastel hearts, equally full shouldered jumpsuits, high waisted everything, loose hair and massive chiffon bows all made for a 'yeah, so what' collection that was more 'fuck you' than 'come hither.' But of course it's so 'fuck you' it is 'come hither' and it's perfect for that dichotomy.I imagine wearing this next time I want to blow massive pink bubble gum bubbles, shout profanity as strangers or scream at my mum and friends for no reason whatsoever other than teen slash early twenties angst. Watch it.
